Keller Parks and Recreation is bringing a new youth series
to the Keller community.
The Get Up and Get Out Series will focus on youth becoming more active in arts,
science, sports and entertainment activities. The nine-month series will begin
in June 2008 and wrap up in February 2009. Each month children will be able to
discover science, use their creativity for art projects, experience sports and
games, or be impacted by performers and theatrical groups. Various presenters
will give programs relating to a series topic on the second Tuesday of each
month, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Keller Town Hall, 1100 Bear Creek Parkway.
The Get Up and Get Out series will conclude with a two-day festival, Keller
KidsFest, set for March 27-28, 2009, at Keller Town Center.

The KidsFest program
is dedicated entirely to local youth and we need their input! A committee of ten
outstanding, local, 4th to 11th graders will help organize and lead the series
and festival. This is their chance to make a difference in the community.
Students must complete and return an application to
Keller Parks and Recreation no later than 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1, 2008.
